Why do tension and pain tend to worsen at night?

This is often due to the so-called “vicious cycle of tension.”
The tension we carry into bed builds up during the day due to multiple factors. These include: physical constitution, muscle shortening, poor posture in daily life, personal pain issues, insufficiently trained muscles, mental health, and a poor sleeping environment.
During deep sleep, we barely move, so we can’t correct uncomfortable sleeping positions. The body remains in an unnatural position for an extended period, and tension continues to build until it triggers pain. Be sure to consciously relax before going to bed and specifically train or stretch your muscles.
In our NSS Network for Pain-Free Sleep, you’ll find contacts for qualified training centers and therapists.
The more relaxed you are when you fall asleep, the less pain you’ll feel when you wake up!
